Rosa Ethel Philipp Ender
February 21, 1918 - July 25, 2010

Rosa Ender of Waco passed away Sunday, July 25, 2010. Services will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 29, at St. John United Church of Christ in Robinson with the Rev. Toni Kracke officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.

Rosa was born February 21, 1918, at Womach, six miles outside of Clifton, Texas, to Rudolph Philipp and Ida Vordenkunz Philipp. She was the youngest of four children and was baptized at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Clifton. Rosa attended school at Womach and lived in this community on the family farm until she married Herold O. Ender on March 4, 1950. They eventually settled in Waco and were the parents of one daughter, Marilyn Rose.

Rosa was a homemaker, loved to work with flowers, garden, bake cakes and pies in her kitchen, and care for her family and dogs. She loved her dogs dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herold, on December 15, 1991. Also preceding her were her parents; her sister, Emma Philipp Krollage; and her brothers, George Philipp and Edgar Philipp.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Marilyn R. Ender Blume, of Dallas; and nieces, cousins and friends.

Special thanks are sent to the staff of Interim Healthcare for their years of care and loving assistance. Sincere heartfelt thanks go to her cousin and caregiver, Annie Gaw, for her love, compassion and attentiveness. Her end days were in the compassionate care of Hillcrest Hospice and all the staff of the 6th floor. All their care was a blessing to Rosa and Marilyn.

Pallbearers are Kermit Kracke, Dr. Elmer Duncan, Marion Lankford, Bill Walsleben, Brian Schultz, Rev. Paul Krupicka and Raymond Rosentreter.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Ray Emerson, Dr. James Copeland and Dr. Andrew Day.

Memorials may be made to St. John United Church of Christ or to Fuzzy Friends Rescue. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in our "Memorial Guestbook" at www.wilkirsonhatchbailey.com.
